Start with bismillah.

Ask: "How can stopping five times a day help you stay good?"

Watch the Muslim Speakers video Salah Prevents from Immoral Sins.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does prayer hold us back from?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does prayer change my behaviour?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-'Ankabut is surah 29. Find ayah 45. The key word tanha means it forbids or restrains. Prayer is like a regular reset button: five times a day, we stop, remember Allah and refresh our hearts. This helps us stay away from wrong. Dhikr Allah akbar: remembering Allah is the greatest thing.

Fact: The very next ayah begins the 21st juz of the Quran. How many juz are there in total?

Ages 5–8: Reset button. Draw a big reset button and list the five prayers on it.

Ages 9–12: Prayer effect. For a week, write how you behaved after each prayer.

Finish with: "I found that there are ___ juz."

Talk together:

• How does prayer keep us from wrong?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Which prayer is hardest for you?
• How can you make prayer more meaningful?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will pray each prayer on time and focus on its meaning."

• Pray on time with focus.
• Draw a reset button.
• Share the prayer effect.
• Next time: the next ayah (29:46) teaches how to speak with People of the Book. Explore it together!

Action: Pray each prayer on time and focus on its meaning.
