وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْعَٰلِمُونَ
Wa til'ka l-'am'thālu naḍ'ribuhā li nnāssi . wamā yaʻ'qiluhā 'illā l-ʻālimūna
And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge.

Allah gives people examples like this, but only those with knowledge truly understand them.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why do some people understand a lesson quickly and others miss it?"
Watch the Universal Jr. video Why Do Spiders Build Webs?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who understands the examples?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I understand the Quran's examples better?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-'Ankabut is surah 29. Find ayah 43. The key word al-'alimun means people of knowledge. The spider example is simple, but its depth is understood by those who think and learn. The more we learn about spiders, the more we see the meaning: a web is clever, but it cannot protect a home.
Fact: What do spiders use their webs for, besides catching food?
Ages 5–8: Web drawing. Draw a spider web and add one fact you learned about spiders.
Ages 9–12: Deeper meaning. Write three things you learned about webs that make the parable clearer.
Finish with: "I found that spiders also use webs for ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn one science fact that helps me understand an ayah."
Action: Learn one science fact that helps you understand an ayah.
