فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
Fakadhdhabūhu fa'akhadhat'humu rraj'fatu fa'aṣ'baḥū fī dārihim' jāthimīna
But they rejected him: Then the mighty Blast seized them, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning.

Madyan rejected Shu'ayb, and a mighty earthquake struck them in their homes.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What should people do when they are warned again and again?"
Watch the IQRA Cartoon episode Prophet Shu'ayb.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What happened to Madyan?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they refuse to listen?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-'Ankabut is surah 29. Find ayah 37. The key word ar-rajfah means the violent shaking. Madyan was warned many times but kept cheating and rejected Shu'ayb. In the end a great shaking seized them. This is one calm line in their story; the lesson is to listen to good advice while we can.
Fact: Which scale do scientists use to measure the strength of earthquakes?
Ages 5–8: Shake test. Build a block tower on a tray, shake gently and see what happens.
Ages 9–12: Earthquake safety. Write what to do if an earthquake ever happens near you.
Finish with: "I found that it is the ___ scale."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will act on a warning from my parents straight away."
Action: Act on a warning from your parents straight away.
