أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ

Do people think they can simply say they believe and never be tested?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you know if a bridge is really strong?"
Watch the Yaqeen Institute video Is Allah Testing or Punishing Me? with Dr. Omar Suleiman.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will believers face?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah test people who believe?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-'Ankabut is surah 29. Find ayah 2. The key word yuftanun means they will be tested. Saying "I believe" is easy; tests show how real and strong that belief is. Like gold heated to remove impurities, tests help faith become pure and strong.
Fact: At what temperature does gold melt?
Ages 5–8: Strength test. Build a paper bridge and test it with coins to see how strong it is.
Ages 9–12: Test journal. Write about a test you faced and what it taught you.
Finish with: "I found that gold melts at about ___ degrees Celsius."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will face one hard thing with patience and dua."
Action: Face one hard thing with patience and dua.
