وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Wa rabbuka yakh'luqu mā yashā'u wayakh'tāru . mā kāna lahumu l-khiyaratu . sub'ḥāna -llahi wataʻālā ʻammā yush'rikūna
Thy Lord does create and choose as He pleases: no choice have they (in the matter): Glory to Allah! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!

Your Lord creates whatever He wills and chooses; the choice is not theirs, glory be to Allah above any partners.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who chose when and where you were born?"
Nouman Ali Khan's Bayyinah khutbah Allah Chose You is long, so watch only the start.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who creates and chooses?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do I trust Allah's choices for me?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qasas is surah 28. Find ayah 68. The key word yakhtar means He chooses. Allah chose prophets, chose Makkah, chose the Quran's language. He also chose our families and our time. His choices come from complete wisdom. Subhanallah means He is far above any flaw.
Fact: Which surah's ayah 75 says Allah chooses messengers from the angels and from people?
Ages 5–8: Chosen gifts. Draw three things Allah chose for you, like your family.
Ages 9–12: Trusting choices. Write about a time something you did not choose turned out well.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say subhanallah when something does not go my way."
Action: Say subhanallah when something does not go your way.
