فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَقِيرٌۭ
Fassaqā lahumā thumma tawallā 'ilā ẓẓilli faqāla rabbi 'innī limā 'anzalta 'ilayya min' khay'rin faqīrun
So he watered (their flocks) for them; then he turned back to the shade, and said:"O my Lord! truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that Thou dost send me!"

Musa watered their animals for them, then rested in the shade and told his Lord he was poor in need of any good He would send.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you say to Allah when you need something?"
Watch the Bismillah Beginnings video Dua of Musa, about asking Allah when in need.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Musa say in the shade?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Musa not ask for anything specific?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qasas is surah 28. Find ayah 24. The key word faqir means in need. Musa helped first and asked for nothing in return from the women. Then he turned to Allah with a humble dua, admitting he needed whatever good Allah would send. This dua is easy to learn and say.
Fact: How many letters are in the Arabic word faqir?
Ages 5–8: Shade spot. Find a shady spot outside and sit quietly making dua.
Ages 9–12: My needs. Write three things you need from Allah and say Musa's dua.
Finish with: "I found that faqir has ___ letters."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn Musa's dua and say it every day."
Action: Learn Musa's dua and say it every day.
