أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ
'Awalam' yaraw' 'ilāl-'ar'ḍi kam' 'an[m]bat'nā fīhā min kulli zaw'jin karīmin
Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein?

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How many kinds of plants can you name?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why are there so many kinds of plants?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shu'ara is surah 26. Find ayah 7. The key words zawjin karim mean a noble kind or pair. Plants come in pairs and in countless varieties, each beautiful and useful. A sign to ponder: look closely at any garden and you will see design everywhere.
Fact: About how many plant species are known on Earth?
Ages 5–8: Plant hunt. Find five different plants near your home.
Ages 9–12: Pairs in nature. Find out how many plants have male and female parts.
Finish with: "I found there are about ___ plant species."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will look closely at one plant and thank Allah."
