وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
Wa mā ya''tīhim mmin dhik'rin mmina rraḥ'māni muḥ'dathin 'illā kānū ʻan'hu muʻ'riḍīna
But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom.

Whenever a fresh reminder comes from the Most Merciful, they turn their backs on it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you do when you get the same reminder twice?"
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi gives an overview of Surah Ash-Shu'ara. Play the first few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do they do with each reminder?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the reminder come from the Most Merciful?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shu'ara is surah 26. Find ayah 5. The key words dhikrun muhdath mean a fresh reminder. The Quran came in parts, each one new and timely. The reminder comes from ar-Rahman, out of mercy. Turning away from a merciful reminder only hurts the one who turns away.
Fact: Which ayah in Surah Al-Anbiya says a fresh reminder comes and people listen while playing?
Ages 5–8: Reminder notes. Stick a kind reminder note somewhere you will see it.
Ages 9–12: Mercy in reminders. Write why reminders are a sign of care.
Finish with: "I found it is ayah ___ of Al-Anbiya."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say 'thank you' when someone reminds me of something good."
Action: Say 'thank you' when someone reminds you of something good.
