Musa admitted that he had done it back then, by mistake, before Allah had made him a messenger.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why is admitting a mistake brave?"
Just a few minutes, please. Listen to Saud Ash-Shuraim recite this part of Ash-Shu'ara on AyaaturRahman.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How did Musa answer?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How did Musa stay calm?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shu'ara is surah 26. Find ayah 20. The key words wa ana min ad-dallin mean while I was among those without guidance. Musa did not deny or make excuses. He admitted it plainly. Honesty disarms an accusation.
Fact: Which dua did Musa make after that event, in ayah 16 of Al-Qasas?
Ages 5–8: Honest answer. Practise saying 'Yes, I did that, and I'm sorry.'
Ages 9–12: Owning it. Write why admitting mistakes earns respect.
Finish with: "I found Musa's dua was ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will own up quickly when I make a mistake."
Action: Own up quickly when you make a mistake.
