But if they know the decision will go their way, they come running and eager.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why does a sunflower turn towards the sun?"
Daily Recitation TV HD has Abdur-Rahman As-Sudais's An-Nur. Play a few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "When do these people come quickly?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Is it fair to follow rules only when they help me?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nur is surah 24. Find ayah 49. These people only come to the fair judge when they expect to win. That is following what suits us, not following what is right. A believer accepts the truth whether it helps them or not.
Fact: Why do young sunflowers follow the sun across the sky? Find out what heliotropism means.
Ages 5–8: Win or lose. Play a game and practise saying 'well played' whether you win or lose.
Ages 9–12: Same rules. Write about a rule you follow even when it doesn't help you.
Finish with: "I found heliotropism means ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say 'well played' when I lose at ___ (game)."
Action: Be a good loser and winner.
