لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Laqad' wuʻid'nā naḥ'nu wa'ābā'unā hādhā min qab'lu 'in' hādhā 'illā 'assāṭīru l-'awwalīna
"Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!"

They said they and their forefathers were promised this long ago and it's only old tales.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is something false just because it's old?"
Hear a short part of Mishary Alafasy, with Malay translation's recitation on Wanderer a'lam.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do they call the promise?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do old truths still matter?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mu'minun is surah 23. Find ayah 83. Asatir al-awwalin means tales of old. They brushed the truth aside because it was old. But true promises don't expire.
Fact: What is the oldest tree in the world? Find its age.
Ages 5–8: Old and true. Ask a grandparent for an old saying that is still true.
Ages 9–12: Timeless. Write three old truths that still matter.
Finish with: "I found the oldest tree is about ___ years."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn an old saying from an elder."
Action: Learn an old saying from an elder.
