Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What does it look like when someone turns their shoulder in pride?"

Try a little of Asma Huda's Al-Hajj from Tajweed Quran, and follow along.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why does he turn away?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is pride so harmful?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hajj is surah 22. Find ayah 9. The Arabic pictures someone twisting his side in pride. He not only goes wrong but pulls others with him. One calm line: his end is disgrace and the Fire. Humility protects us.

Fact: Find the ayah in Luqman that says don't turn your cheek away from people in pride (31:18).

Ages 5–8: Proud or kind. Act out a proud turn and a kind turn towards someone.

Ages 9–12: Pride effects. Write how pride hurts the proud person and others.

Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."

Talk together:

• How does pride look?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How can you turn towards people kindly?
• Who can you include this week?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will turn towards someone who is left out."
