Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What would you pack if you had to leave home quickly?"

Only a few minutes are needed: Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi recites Al-Hajj on Door to Deen.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will Allah give them?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do some people leave everything for Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hajj is surah 22. Find ayah 58. The first Muslims left Makkah for Madinah, giving up homes and wealth. Some died on the way or later. Allah promises them a good provision. Ask your teacher about the hijrah.

Fact: In which year of the Islamic calendar did the hijrah happen? (Year 1.).

Ages 5–8: Migrating birds. Find out which birds migrate and why.

Ages 9–12: Sacrifice. Write what the early Muslims gave up for Allah.

Finish with: "I found the hijrah was in year ___."

Talk together:

• What would be hard to leave?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why does Allah reward sacrifice?
• What can you give up for Allah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will give up one small thing for Allah: ___."
