وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًۭا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
Wa zakariyyā 'idh' nādā rabbahu rabbi lā tadhar'nī far'dan wa'anta khay'ru l-wārithīna
And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors."

Zakariyya called to his Lord not to leave him without children, for Allah is the finest of inheritors.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What would you ask Allah for if you felt alone?"
Al-Huda Productions has a short recitation of the du'as of the prophets. Listen together.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Zakariyya ask for?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Zakariyya keep hoping when he was old?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anbiya is surah 21. Find ayah 89. Zakariyya, peace be upon him, was old with no children, yet he never stopped hoping. He asked Allah sincerely.
Fact: Which surah tells Zakariyya's du'a in detail? (Maryam, 19:2–6.).
Ages 5–8: Hope box. Write a hope on paper and put it in a box with a du'a.
Ages 9–12: Never give up. Write why Zakariyya kept making du'a.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for my hope every day."
Action: Make du'a for your hope every day.
