إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَٰكِفُونَ
'Idh' qāla li'abīhi waqaw'mihī mā hādhihi ttamāthīlu -llatī 'antum' lahā ʻākifūna
Behold! he said to his father and his people, "What are these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?"

Ibrahim asked his father and his people what these statues were that they devoted themselves to.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is it okay to ask questions politely?"
Play the short recitation of ayat 51–70 from nadiasiddique.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who did Ibrahim ask?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Ibrahim start with a question?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anbiya is surah 21. Find ayah 52. Ibrahim began with a calm question to make people think. Good questions can open hearts. He spoke to his father too, with respect.
Fact: Find where Ibrahim speaks gently to his father, 'O my father' (Maryam 19:42–45).
Ages 5–8: Polite questions. Practise asking a question politely.
Ages 9–12: Good questions. Write three questions that make people think.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask questions politely."
Action: Ask questions politely.
