وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَآءًۭ وَذِكْرًۭا لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
Wa laqad' 'ātay'nā mūssā wahārūna l-fur'qāna waḍiyā'an wadhik'ran llil'muttaqīna
In the past We granted to Moses and Aaron the criterion (for judgment), and a Light and a Message for those who would do right,-

Allah gave Musa and Harun the Criterion, with light and a reminder meant for the mindful.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What helps you tell right from wrong?"
Accessible Islam has The Clear Qur'an English audio of Surah Al-Anbiya in English. Play a few minutes to hear the meaning.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What three things were given?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does 'criterion' mean?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anbiya is surah 21. Find ayah 48. Al-Furqan means the Criterion: what separates right from wrong. The Tawrah given to Musa was a light and a reminder.
Fact: Which surah is named Al-Furqan? What number is it?
Ages 5–8: Right or wrong. Sort cards of actions into right and wrong.
Ages 9–12: Light. Write how guidance is like light.
Finish with: "I found Al-Furqan is surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will check my actions with the Quran's guidance."
Action: Check your actions with the Quran's guidance.
