Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Why is this surah called the Cow?"

Play the short Al-Baqarah clip of ayat 66–69 from Hafiz Muhammad Asim Shahzad.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were they commanded?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they think Musa was joking?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 67. This begins the story that names the surah. Musa was serious; prophets never mock. A simple command became complicated by their questions.

Fact: The surah is named after this cow, Al-Baqarah.

Ages 5–8: Cow story. Draw the cow from the story.

Ages 9–12: Prophets are serious. Write why prophets don't mock.

Finish with: "The surah is named after the ___."

Talk together:

• What were they told?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What did they ask?
• How should we respond to instructions?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will retell the story of the cow."
