حَٰفِظُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَٰتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ وَقُومُوا۟ لِلَّهِ قَٰنِتِينَ
Ḥāfiẓū ʻalā ṣṣalawāti wa ṣṣalāti l-wus'ṭā waqūmū lillahi qānitīna
Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers, especially the Middle Prayer; and stand before Allah in a devout (frame of mind).

Keep guarding your prayers, the middle prayer most of all, and stand before Allah with humble devotion.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Which prayer is the 'middle prayer'?"
Quran for All has the whole of Al-Baqarah by a reciter. Play just the first stretch.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which prayer is named specially?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is this ayah placed among family rulings?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 238. Many scholars say the middle prayer is 'Asr. Placed among family rulings, it reminds us: in every situation, keep praying.
Fact: Many scholars say the middle prayer is 'Asr (Bukhari).
Ages 5–8: 'Asr time. Find out when 'Asr is today.
Ages 9–12: Guard prayer. Write how to guard your prayers.
Finish with: "Many say the middle prayer is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will pray 'Asr on time every day."
Action: Pray 'Asr on time every day.
