Ask: "Who should get your help first?"

Play the short clip from QuranicDeen of Yasser Al-Dosari reciting ayat 214–215 of Al-Baqarah.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who comes first in the list?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why are parents first?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 215. Charity starts at home with parents and family, then spreads to orphans, the poor and travellers.

Fact: Charity to relatives earns two rewards: charity and keeping ties (Tirmidhi).

Ages 5–8: Help at home. Do something kind for a parent.

Ages 9–12: Charity list. Write the order of who to help.

Finish with: "Charity starts with ___."

Talk together:

• Who is first?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why parents?
• Whom will you help?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will do something kind for my parents each day."

• Start at home.
• Help family.
• Help others.
• Next time: the next ayah (2:216) speaks of things we dislike. Explore it together!
