Start with bismillah.

Ask: "How close is Allah?"

A short clip on Ummah Muslim recites ayah 186 of Al-Baqarah. Play the whole clip.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah say about Himself?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is this ayah in the middle of the fasting ayat?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 186. Allah doesn't say 'tell them'; He answers directly: I am near. Placed among the fasting ayat, it reminds us du'a while fasting is special.

Fact: The Prophet said a fasting person's du'a is not turned away (Tirmidhi).

Ages 5–8: Talk to Allah. Make a du'a in your own words.

Ages 9–12: Near. Write how knowing Allah is near helps.

Finish with: "Allah says: I am ___."

Talk together:

• What does Allah say?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why here?
• What will you ask Him?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will make a du'a in my own words each day."

• Allah is near.
• He answers.
• Call on Him.
• Next time: the next ayah (2:187) speaks of the nights of fasting. Explore it together!
