وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَن يُقْتَلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتٌۢ ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌۭ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ
Wa lā taqūlū liman yuq'talu fī sabīli -llahi 'am'wātun[m] . bal' 'aḥ'yā'un walākin llā tash'ʻurūna
And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.

Do not say that those killed in Allah's way are dead; they are alive, though you cannot sense it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is death the end for those who die for Allah?"
A short clip on Hidaya learning quran recites ayat 151–155 of Al-Baqarah. Play the whole clip.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What are they, though we can't see?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can someone be alive but unseen?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 154. Those who gave their lives for Allah have a special life with Him that we can't see. It comforts families who lost loved ones.
Fact: This ayah came after the believers who died at Badr.
Ages 5–8: Comfort card. Make a card for a family that lost someone.
Ages 9–12: Unseen life. Write how this ayah gives hope.
Finish with: "They are ___, though we don't see."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for those who have passed away."
Action: Make du'a for those who have passed away.
