أَوَكُلَّمَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ عَهْدًۭا نَّبَذَهُۥ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
'Awakullamā ʻāhadū ʻah'dan nnabadhahu farīqun mmin'hum . bal' 'ak'tharuhum' lā yu''minūna
Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless.

Whenever they made a promise, a group among them threw it aside; in fact most of them did not believe.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens when promises keep breaking?"
Put on Mishary Alafasy's Al-Baqarah from One Allah and follow along for a little while.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did a group throw aside?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does breaking promises damage trust?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 100. Promises keep trust alive. When they keep breaking, trust disappears. Believers keep their word.
Fact: Keeping trusts and promises is a sign of believers (23:8).
Ages 5–8: Promise kept. Keep one promise all week.
Ages 9–12: Trust. Write how broken promises damage trust.
Finish with: "Believers keep their ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will keep every promise I make."
Action: Keep every promise you make.
