فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّۭا
Fa'ashārat' 'ilay'hi . qālū kay'fa nukallimu man kāna fī l-mah'di ṣabiyyan
But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"

Maryam pointed to the baby, and they asked how they could talk to a baby in a cradle.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can a baby talk?"
Hear the opening minutes of Maryam in Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi's voice, from Yousef M Ch.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Maryam do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What did Maryam know would happen?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Maryam is surah 19. Find ayah 29. Maryam kept her promise of silence and pointed to the baby. The people were puzzled. Then a miracle happened.
Fact: Read 19:30: what were the baby's first words?
Ages 5–8: Pointing game. Answer questions only by pointing.
Ages 9–12: Trust. Write how Maryam trusted Allah to speak for her.
Finish with: "I found the first words were ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will trust Allah in a hard moment."
Action: Trust Allah in a hard moment.
