قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّۭا
Qālat' 'annā yakūnu lī ghulāmun walam' yam'sas'nī basharun walam' 'aku baghiyyan
She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?"

Maryam asked how she could have a son when she had never been married and had always kept herself pure.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you ask when something seems impossible?"
Listen together as Maher Al-Muaiqly recites ayat 16–36 of Maryam, a short clip shared by IMAMS OF HARAMAIN.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why was Maryam surprised?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How could this happen?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Maryam is surah 19. Find ayah 20. Maryam was unmarried and pure. Having a baby seemed impossible. Like Zakariya, she asked how, and Allah's answer comes next.
Fact: Compare Zakariya's question (19:8) with Maryam's (19:20). What is similar?
Ages 5–8: Two questions. Talk about how Zakariya and Maryam both asked 'how?'
Ages 9–12: Compare. Write how their two stories are alike.
Finish with: "I found they both ___."
