Or the garden's water might sink so deep underground that he could never reach it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens to a garden without water?"
Listen to a few minutes of Al-Kahf from the channel used here, and notice the sound of the water words in the recitation.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where might the water go?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Who keeps water within our reach?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 41. A sign to ponder: underground water (groundwater) can drop in droughts. Without water, gardens die. Allah keeps water within reach as a mercy.
Fact: What is a water table? Find out.
Ages 5–8: Water test. Pour water into sand and watch it sink.
Ages 9–12: Precious water. Write ways to save water.
Finish with: "I found a water table is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will turn off the tap while brushing my teeth."
Action: Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
