ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ أَىُّ ٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ أَحْصَىٰ لِمَا لَبِثُوٓا۟ أَمَدًۭا
Thumma baʻath'nāhum' linaʻ'lama 'ayyu l-ḥiz'bay'ni 'aḥ'ṣā limā labithū 'amadan
Then We roused them, in order to test which of the two parties was best at calculating the term of years they had tarried!

Then Allah woke them up, to show which group could better count how long they had stayed.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you know how long you've slept?"
Fatih Seferagic recites Al-Kahf on his own channel. Play the first few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why did Allah wake them?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What would it feel like to wake up years later?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 12. When they woke, they had no idea how much time had passed. Only Allah knows time exactly.
Fact: How do we measure time without a clock? Find two ways.
Ages 5–8: Guess the time. Close your eyes and guess when a minute has passed.
Ages 9–12: Time. Write why only Allah knows time fully.
Finish with: "I found we can use ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will use my time wisely."
Action: Use your time wisely.
