وَمَا مَنَعَ ٱلنَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ أَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ بَشَرًۭا رَّسُولًۭا
Wa mā manaʻa nnāssa 'an yu''minū 'idh' jā'ahumu l-hudā 'illā 'an qālū 'abaʻatha -llahu basharan rrassūlan
What kept men back from belief when Guidance came to them, was nothing but this: they said, "Has Allah sent a man (like us) to be (His) Messenger?"

Nothing stopped people believing when guidance came except that they asked whether Allah would really send a human as a messenger.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Would an angel be easier to follow than a human?"
Maher Al-Muaiqly recites Al-Isra on Discover happiness. A few minutes is plenty.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What stopped them from believing?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is a human messenger a mercy?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Isra is surah 17. Find ayah 94. People found it strange that a messenger was human. But a human can show us how to live, pray and be kind in real life.
Fact: Read 17:95 for Allah's answer.
Ages 5–8: Example. Name one thing the Prophet did that you can do too.
Ages 9–12: Mercy. Write why a human messenger helps us.
Finish with: "I found the answer is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will smile at others as the Prophet did."
Action: Smile at others as the Prophet did.
