Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Is land always safer than sea?"

Put on Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary's Al-Isra from محمود خليل الحصري Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary and follow along for a little while.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What could happen on land?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah remind us that land isn't completely safe?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Isra is surah 17. Find ayah 68. Earthquakes and storms can happen on land too. We're always in Allah's care, on land or sea. So we remember Him everywhere.

Fact: How many earthquakes happen in the world each year? Find an estimate.

Ages 5–8: Safe places. Talk about safety drills and du'a.

Ages 9–12: Everywhere. Write why we need Allah's protection everywhere.

Finish with: "I found about ___ a year."

Talk together:

• Is land always safe?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Who protects us everywhere?
• What du'a protects you?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will say the travel du'a on every trip."

• Say the travel du'a.
• Talk about safety.
• Share your writing.
• Next time: the next ayah (17:69) asks about going back to sea. Explore it together!

Action: Say the travel du'a on every trip.
