وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَكُمْ خَشْيَةَ إِمْلَٰقٍۢ ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُهُمْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ قَتْلَهُمْ كَانَ خِطْـًۭٔا كَبِيرًۭا
Wa lā taq'tulū 'aw'lādakum' khash'yata 'im'lāqin . nnaḥ'nu nar'zuquhum' wa'iyyākum' . 'inna qat'lahum' kāna khiṭ''an kabīran
Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin.

Never harm children out of fear of being poor; Allah provides for them and for you, and harming them is a terrible wrong.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who looks after every child in the world?"
Living Islam Productions posted a short recitation of ayat 23–39 of Al-Isra. Listen to all of it together.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who provides for children?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah say He provides for the children first?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Isra is surah 17. Find ayah 31. Long ago, some people harmed their children because they feared poverty. Allah forbade it: He provides for every child. Every child is precious to Allah.
Fact: Find a similar ayah in Al-An'am (6:151).
Ages 5–8: Precious. Draw yourself and write 'precious to Allah'.
Ages 9–12: Provision. Write how this ayah shows children are precious.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be kind and gentle to younger children."
Action: Be kind and gentle to younger children.
