يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
Yaʻ'rifūna niʻ'mata -llahi thumma yunkirūnahā wa'ak'tharuhumu l-kāfirūna
They recognise the favours of Allah; then they deny them; and most of them are (creatures) ungrateful.

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is it enough to know who helped you?"
Put on Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi's An-Nahl from Quran Reader and follow along for a little while.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do they do after recognising favours?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I show thanks, not just know it?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nahl is surah 16. Find ayah 83. Knowing Allah gave us everything isn't enough; we show thanks with our words and actions. Many people know but don't thank.
Fact: Look up Saba 34:13: few of My servants are thankful.
Ages 5–8: Show thanks. Do one action to show thanks to Allah.
Ages 9–12: Knowing and thanking. Write the difference between knowing and thanking.
Finish with: "Saba 34:13 says ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will show thanks with an action."
Action: Show thanks with an action.
