فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
Falammā dhahaba ʻan' 'ib'rāhīma rraw'ʻu wajā'at'hu l-bush'rā yujādilunā fī qaw'mi lūṭin
When fear had passed from (the mind of) Abraham and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with us for Lut's people.

When Ibrahim's fear had gone and the good news had reached him, he began pleading with Allah's messengers about the people of Lut.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Do you speak up for people even when they've done wrong?"
Play the short Hud clip of ayat 69–83 from The Quran DVD.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whom did Ibrahim plead for?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Ibrahim care about a people who did wrong?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Hud is surah 11. Find ayah 74. Ibrahim had a merciful heart. Even for Lut's people, who did shameful deeds, he pleaded, hoping they might be given more time. Caring about others is beautiful.
Fact: Find what the next ayah says about Ibrahim's character (11:75).
Ages 5–8: Kind heart. Talk about hoping good for everyone, even those who do wrong.
Ages 9–12: Mercy. Write how Ibrahim showed mercy.
Finish with: "11:75 says Ibrahim was ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for someone who upset me."
Action: Make du'a for someone who upset you.
