وَتِلْكَ عَادٌۭ ۖ جَحَدُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا۟ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍۢ
Wa til'ka ʻādun . jaḥadū bi'āyāti rabbihim' waʻaṣaw' russulahu wa-ttabaʻū 'am'ra kulli jabbārin ʻanīdin
Such were the 'Ad People: they rejected the Signs of their Lord and Cherisher; disobeyed His messengers; And followed the command of every powerful, obstinate transgressor.

That was 'Aad: they rejected their Lord's signs, disobeyed His messengers and followed the orders of every proud, stubborn tyrant.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why does it matter whom we follow?"
Begin Muhammad Ayyub's Hud on Quran Memories and listen for a few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whom did 'Aad follow?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do I choose good people to follow?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Hud is surah 11. Find ayah 59. 'Aad made three mistakes: they rejected Allah's signs, disobeyed messengers and followed stubborn bullies. Choosing good leaders matters.
Fact: List the three mistakes of 'Aad from this ayah.
Ages 5–8: Good leaders. Name a good leader you know and why they are good.
Ages 9–12: Choosing leaders. Write signs of a good leader and a bad one.
Finish with: "'Aad's three mistakes were ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will follow a good example in one thing."
Action: Follow a good example in one thing.
