وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَآ أَخَذَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَهِىَ ظَٰلِمَةٌ ۚ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُۥٓ أَلِيمٌۭ شَدِيدٌ
Wa kadhālika 'akh'dhu rabbika 'idhā 'akhadha l-qurā wahiya ẓālimatun . 'inna 'akh'dhahu 'alīmun shadīdun
Such is the chastisement of thy Lord when He chastises communities in the midst of their wrong: grievous, indeed, and severe is His chastisement.

That is how your Lord takes hold of towns when they are doing wrong; His taking hold is painful and severe.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why should we never take wrongdoing lightly?"
Play the short clip from yousufj56 of Muhammad Al-Luhaidan reciting ayat 102–108 of Hud.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "When does Allah take hold of towns?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does this ayah help me stay careful?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Hud is surah 11. Find ayah 102. This ayah is a short, serious reminder that wrongdoing has consequences. We remember it to stay careful, and we remember Allah's mercy to keep hope.
Fact: Find an ayah that balances this with mercy: Al-Hijr 15:49–50.
Ages 5–8: Careful and hopeful. Talk about being careful and hopeful together.
Ages 9–12: Balance. Write why we need both fear and hope.
Finish with: "Al-Hijr 15:49 says Allah is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will stop myself before doing something wrong."
Action: Stop yourself before doing something wrong.
