Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What makes a building stand strong for a long time?"

Play the short Hud clip of ayah 1 from Muslim Ummah.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which two names of Allah end this ayah?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the Quran explain things in detail?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Hud is surah 11. Find ayah 1. Surah Hud is named after the Prophet Hud, sent to the people of 'Aad. It opens by saying the Quran's ayat are firm, like strong foundations, and then explained clearly by Allah, the Wise and All-Aware.

Fact: This surah tells the stories of seven prophets. As you read, list them: Nuh, Hud, Salih, Ibrahim, Lut, Shu'ayb and Musa.

Ages 5–8: Strong base. Build a tower of blocks with a wide base and a thin base. Which stands longer?

Ages 9–12: Prophet list. Start a chart of the prophets in Surah Hud and their peoples.

Finish with: "The prophet this surah is named after was sent to the people of ___."

Talk together:
