Ask: "Why does a fun day seem to fly by?"

Play part of this recitation and think about how quickly a few minutes go by.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How long will life on earth seem?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why will this life feel so short?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Yunus is surah 10. Find ayah 45. On the Day of Judgment, the whole of life will feel like just a short time. People will recognise one another. Those who denied meeting Allah will have lost, so we use our time well now.

Fact: How many hours you have lived so far. Multiply your age by 365 and then by 24.

Ages 5–8: One hour. See how much good you can do in one hour.

Ages 9–12: Life clock. Calculate your age in hours and write what it makes you think.

Finish with: "One year has about ___ hours."

Talk together:

• How long will life seem?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why does time matter?
• How will you use your next hour?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will use one hour for something good."

• Life is short.
• Count your hours.
• Use time well.
• Next time: the next ayah (10:46) says everyone returns to Allah, who sees all. Explore it together!
